Educational Board Games

When I was a kid, my mom hired a sweet elderly lady in our neighborhood to care for me and my sister during the daytime. Over the years, this wonderful woman kept dozens of children at her small home. She was talented at her position. I was never bored. In the mornings, I enjoyed reading a variety of books. During the afternoons, my caretaker played several educational board games with the children she kept. I learned new words, gaming strategies, and teamwork while sitting around her dining room table playing these fun games with other kids. On this blog, you will discover how to incorporate educational board games into your daycare’s schedule.

Preparing Your Child For Their First Daycare Experience

Blog

If you are the parent of a small child who is not yet ready to go to school, and you decided to obtain a job during the daytime hours, you need to find someone to watch over your offspring during your absence. Many parents turn to daycare centers serviced by trained childcare professionals. Here are tips to make your child's first daycare session successful.

Visit The Daycare Facility With Your Child

Before your child's first day at a daycare facility, it is important that you bring your child there during a time when caring services are not in session. To do this, contact the daycare provider and inquire about taking a tour with your child in tow. Many facilities have special days set aside for this and will schedule a session for you to come and take a visit. Be sure that the exact caregivers who will be watching over your child will be there during your tour. This way your child can meet them before their first day. Touring the facility will pique your child's interest as they see the toys and activity areas they will be using. They will also feel confident about staying at the facility if they are familiar with its layout.

Meet Up With Other Parents And Children Using The Facility

If the daycare has an orientation program set up for parents and children, be sure to attend. Here you will meet others who intend on using the facility. Obtain contact information from parents and children you feel comfortable spending time with. If possible, set up a few playdates with children of similar age to your daughter or son. Your child will feel at ease knowing their new friends will be present at the daycare facility when they are dropped off for their first day.

Let Your Child Help With Preparing For Their Session

Many children enjoy being involved in the preparation for going to daycare. Let your child pick out a new backpack to hold their belongings, as well as a lunchbox with one of their favorite characters upon it to hold their food. Allow your child to also pick out their outfit for their first day at the daycare facility. Be sure clothing is easy to remove and put back on so your child does not become frustrated when using the bathroom. New school supplies or a desired toy to share with others can also be incentives for a day of success.
